Known since ancient times, the water of San Martino was one of the “Waters of the Caesars”, in fact the Romans revered it for its incredible properties. Thanks to historical documents it can be verified how the water and the source were considered very precious.
On the Coros plateau, where San Martino water is born, some of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe (11th century BC) have been found that document the cult of water among pre-Nuragic populations.
In the second century BC the Romans realized that the quality of the water of San Martino was such as to justify the investment in a pipeline of 35 kilometers that brought the precious water to Porto Torres (the Turris Libissonis of those times).
Even today, in fact, it is an award-winning water, a priceless treasure comparable only to very few other hypermineral waters in the world.
